In the Neophyte Course the fundamentals of the practice are explored in detail, the correct sequence of asanas is introduced, paying particular attention to the relationship and awareness of the coordination of breathing and movement. You become familiar with the techniques of Trishtana (asana/bandha-ujjayi-drishti) and the theoretical foundations of Ashtanga. The class ends with a guided relaxation (short Yoga Nidra).

The Neophyte Course takes place several times a year, subsequently you can freely attend the traditional LED Class when on the calendar or the Mysore classes available on time.

Mysore - Traditional Mysore
Mysore
mysoreclass_conniehabash_counseling_yoga

Traditional form of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga teaching, in the Mysore class you follow your own rhythm of practice, respecting your personal characteristics and possibilities. The class is open to everyone, including those who cannot take the Beginners Course. During the lesson you find yourself in a mixed class and are followed individually by the teacher with verbal and physical "adjustments", you learn the correct execution of the series, the vinyasa and the correct execution of the asanas, progressively working on dissolving physical blocks and emotional. In the Mysore class, personal practice develops more quickly and one enters deeply into this experience, individual and collective at the same time, capable of developing greater attention and concentration, necessary to access the internal practices of Yoga. Traditional Mysore is the dawn class, in which silence and concentration can be cultivated, suitable for finding the centering necessary for daily activities. It is dedicated to those who already have a basic knowledge of the sequence.

Led Class
Guidate

The Led Class is the traditional guided class of the first series in which the teacher conducts the correct sequence and counting of the asanas and vinyasas, in Sanskrit and without technical insights, as they have already been learned during the Neophyte Course. The students adapt their rhythm of movement and breathing to the given count, becoming like a single person who practices the sequence without interruptions, thus learning to stay in a rhythm that leaves no room for thoughts or distractions, with great benefit for concentration and the quieting of the mind.

This is a special class, in which one has the opportunity to deepen the study and memorization of the sequence in a completely practical way, and, with a little time and luck, one is able to experience the flow , that is, the state in which body and mind flow through the breath, supported by the collective energy of the group.

The difference with other classes is well explained in the questions section.

how to prepare and what to bring
Yogashalapg - Ashtanga Yoga Perugia - What you need - Tips for practice
  • It is better if you practice on an empty stomach (3/4 hours after the meal) and with a free intestine/bladder.

  • Drink before and after practice, not during (if you ask me I'll explain why).

  • Dress in clothing suitable to lighten you and cover you easily, preferably elastic and comfortable.

  • Bring a blanket with you for final relaxation and a towel that I can use to help you make adjustments.

  • The mat is the only real tool you need to practice: it's always better to have your own. (For trial lessons and for your first lessons I have several mats available and I can help you choose one that's right for you).

FAQ
The FAQ, questions for those who still have doubts

WHAT DOES MYSORE MEAN?

That you learn the practice in a traditional way, together with practitioners of all levels, and are followed with personalized teaching. If you practice independently and remember the sequence, you can log in whenever you want, the important thing is that you complete your practice within the time limit. If you are a complete beginner you can take part in the Ashtanga course from scratch for newbies, if you can't follow it contact us to agree on the best solution for you.

WHAT IS TRADITIONAL MYSORE?

It is the Mysore practice at dawn, as per Indian and global tradition.

If we were to explain the benefits of practicing at dawn before starting the day, we would hardly find the appropriate words to do so, we only know that it is the most beautiful revolution we can give ourselves.

We could discuss ad libitum about the effort and effort to organize ourselves so that this can happen, that not everyone can, that we are sleepy and that we go to bed too late at night and the distances... The intention is to allow you as much possible to experience the practice early in the morning and its benefits. To make a courageous revolution and go towards yourself.

WHO CAN ATTEND THE LED CLASS WHEN SCHEDULED?
Anyone who wants to learn counting and the correct sequence well and is not a beginner. It is a class that is also accessible to those who do Mysore or have finished the beginners course but do not practice the entire first series.

I HAVE NEVER DONE YOGA IN MY LIFE/I HAVE DONE HATHA YOGA OR VINYASA, WHAT IS THE BEST SOLUTION FOR ME?

The ASHTANGA FROM SCRATCH course for beginners, when active, is ideal because it is learned at a gentle pace: in fact, although it is still Yoga, each method refers to different physical-energetic techniques and basic settings.
If the beginners course is not available, it is possible to attend some of the Mysore classes by agreeing directly with us.

I HAVE BEEN PRACTICAL FOR SOME TIME NOW BUT I STILL DON'T REMEMBER THE SEQUENCE, WHICH CLASS DO I TAKE?
Mysore, Mysore all my life. Because you learn the road by driving alone and getting lost sometimes, so in the end you learn to go at your own pace which can change every day. And then if you don't remember I'm there, I'm there for this too.

If you want to dot the i 's instead, the traditional LED CLASS is perfect.
